APPLICATION PROCESS

Academy spaces are limited and are offered through selection, invitation and application.

Applications must be made by email to Teresa Lilley, Legends Tennis UK, Director of Tennis at teresa.lilley@hotmail.co.uk or by calling the club reception on 01992 476880.

Applications open from November 1st 2011 for the January 2012 Spring Term. Children may be asked to attend an on court assessment session.

Prices are available on application.

Applications are open to children who are 5-9 years old who have:

• High levels of athletic and tennis specific ability and potential,
• The desire to compete and are motivated by competition,
• Have a focused and determined approach to personal improvement,
• Are commited to attending set/advised training programmes and participate in regular competition.

Once offered a place in the Legends Mini-Tennis Academy, players/parents are required to agree the following commitments:

• Commit to the Academy programme and show regular attendance,
• Show high levels of personal conduct, respect for others, positive on and off court behavior and sportsmanship,
• commitment to completing at home/off court training programmes as set,
• Participate in a minimum of 8 mini-tennis red matches per half-term or 2 Orange matchplay events per half-ter mand the recommended tournament grade,
• Submit monthly result sheets detailing results (emailed to teresa.lilley@legendstennis.co.uk on first day of month)
• Legends Members must be avaliable to represent the Club in term competition,
• During periods players are expected to show a commitment to organising free practice sessions/hitting sessions/practice matches.

Players will be continually monitored and assessed with ragard to their attitude towards practice, competitive involvement and ongoing improvement. Players may be offered an alternative programme if the Academy training programme is no longer suitable.
