WHO CAN APPLY?

The Mini-Tennis Academy launches in January 2012 and is for mini-red and mini-orange players (5-9 years). The Academy comprises of 3 tiers and targets the following players…

Mini-Red Rising Players

5-6 year olds with Red Rating 3 & 4,

Have high levels of athlectic ability and have been identified as having good tennis specific potential,

Show a love of sport,

Motivated by and enjoy the challenge of competition,

Have a focussed and determined approach to learning and improving.

Mini-Red Competition Players

6-8 year olds with Red Rating 1 & 2,

Are developing the technical and athlectic foundations for performance tennis,

Have the desire to compete and show a determined attitude in competition,

Are enthused and motivated by a high intensity training environment,

Are showing self-determination to improve all aspects of their game for long-term success.

Orange Competition Players

7-9 year olds with Orange Rating 2 & 1 or Red 1′s in last season,

Are confindent in applying technical skills in matchplay,

Are motivated by the tactical, physical and the personal challenges of competition,

Are committed to all round tennis and athlectic development,

Are competing regularly at the advised level.

Acceptance into the Academy is through invitation or application/selection

The Academy delivers a fun, rewarding and progressive training programme in line with international guidelines. Tuition is focussed on maximising potential and developing competent and confident competitors while giving children a skill for life.
